Modern media is such powerful tool — it has the power to shape conversations, hold people accountable, and give a voice to others. I’ve always pushed myself to tell stories that matter, whether that meant juggling three jobs or chasing leads across Austin. It's my honor to create media that resonates with diverse audiences.

Hi, I'm Ren — a senior journalism student at UT Austin, serving as associate news editor for The Daily Texan and current editorial intern for Texas Monthly. My experience spans print, audio and photojournalism, with previous roles at KUT, The Austin Chronicle, UT's Office of the Dean of Students Communication Department, iDayDream Studios, The Garnette Report and the National Hispanic Institute. I've always held at least two roles at the same time — what can I say? I just love what I do. 

Outside of journalism, I love to binge documentaries, listen to podcasts while baking (while making a mess of my kitchen, might I add), and playing with my cat, Nyx.
